West Side Montessori will host Trevor Eissler, a parent, author, and advocate for Montessori education, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. at its Toledo campus. The presentation is free and the public is welcome. The Toledo campus is located at 7115 W. Bancroft.
In his talk, “Montessori: It’s About Making Connections,” Eissler will describe how connections in Montessori education are relevant to our children, ourselves, and our world. For our children, it is the connection to the value of shared learning and the development of critical thinking. As a father of three Montessori children, he will make a parent-to-parent argument for Montessori education. Globally, the connection to a greater community and the environment is nurtured in a Montessori setting through service projects and outdoor education.
Eissler is best known for a 321 Fast Draw video, “Montessori Madness,” which can be viewed at www.montessoritoledo.org. He has written four books – Montessori Madness! A Parent to Parent Argument for Montessori Education; 4,962,571; That 17th Hat; and N is for North Korea. He is a business jet pilot and flight instructor and lives in Texas.
