Building the Future at
West Side Montessori

The 2017 school year was monumental for West Side with the celebration of the opening of our new building, forming of cross country and basketball teams, and student enjoyment of many enhancements made possible by previous Annual Enhancement Fund contributions.

You are part of a generous family, connected by a culture of giving. Our loyal Board of Trustees and WSM faculty & staff have already made their gifts to this year’s campaign. I invite you to join the faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees to see where your gift can make an impact today. Our goal for the campaign is 100% participation and to raise $55,000.

All gifts, regardless of size, enable our students to benefit from enriching experiences.

    • Your donation of $50 enables WSM to purchase materials like the Movable Alphabet for developing early writing skills.
    • Your donation of $250 enables WSM to purchase materials like the Golden Beads for work with the decimal system.
    • Your donation of $500 enables WSM to pay for additions to the STEM lab to increase experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Please consider joining me in making a gift to this year’s AEF. Our goals for this year include outdoor education with

restoring of the gardens & support of a gardener in residence, underwriting the author/illustrator performances, providing teachers classroom materials that exceed their classroom budgets, and general campus improvements.

The families of our school are passionate about the programs WSM offers and the teachers and staff value the support you give them.  Your valued support of the AEF is an investment in our students, teachers, programs, and facilities. I look forward to sharing the success of the campaign with you.

Cash Gifts

Cash contributions, for which donors receive tax benefits if they itemize their deductions, are a key source of Annual Fund dollars. Checks should be made payable to West Side Montessori and may be dropped off at the Front Office or sent directly to:

Development Office
Side Montessori
7115 W. Bancroft
Toledo, OH 43615

Charge Your Gift

You may also choose to charge your gift on your MasterCard, Visa or American Express. In order to process the gift, we need the card number, expiration date and name as it appears on the card. Click the click for a convenient and secure online giving form.

Recurring Gifts

A monthly gift allows supporters to spread the financial impact of their giving across the entire year, lessening the acute financial impact but making a larger total gift to West Side Montessori.  Please contact Kris, our bookkeeper, at 419-866-1931.

Pledges are accepted for any contribution to the school. Annual Enhancement Fund pledges are payable by June 30th. Reminders are sent from the Development Office. Please contact Roberta or Glenda in the Development Office to make your pledge at 419-866-1931.

Gifts of Securities

A gift of appreciated securities, held for more than one year, may provide a greater tax advantage than a gift of cash. Capital gains on the appreciation are avoided, and you receive a tax deduction for the stock's fair market value. Securities will be valued at the average of the high and low trading prices on the day the gift is transferred to West Side Montessori.

Matching Gifts

Many companies will match or multiply donations from their employees (in some cases, an employees' spouse). Contact your employer's personnel office to determine whether your company participates in a matching gift program to request the necessary forms.

Deferred Gifts and Bequests

Donors may find they can make a more substantial gift through a deferred gift than through an outright contribution. Usually, deferred gifts are trust funds that generate income paid to the donor during his or her lifetime, with the principal going to the school after the donor's death. Donors receive full tax benefits for their contributions. Bequests that are realized and consistent with the school's goals will be counted in the fiscal year in which they are given.

Memorial and Honorary Gifts

Gifts may be made in memory of an individual who has passed away or specified to honor a member of your family or the school's family.
