This is West Side Montessori's signature event and largest fundraising event of the year. You won't want to miss the fun festivities and opportunity to mingle with other parents and friends - James Bond style.

The event features silent and live auctions, lively auction games and delicious grazing stations.  We hope to see you there!

Spring Fundraiser Frequently Asked Questions


What is West Side Montessori’s Spring Fundraiser?  The Spring Fundraiser is West Side’s premier social event of the year. It is a fun party bringing the entire West Side Montessori community together. This year’s theme is From West Side with Love, celebrating all things James Bond.  
The event features silent and live auctions, gaming tables (black jack, roulette & craps), elegant small plates and carving stations, and an open bar.

What is the format for the evening?  The evening begins right at 6:30 with social mingling, eating and enjoying cocktails.  Silent auction tables and gaming tables will be open.  There is limited seating as the event is a very active event.
At approximately 8:30 the live auction will begin.  The live auction features 12 items and is fun to watch, even if you don’t plan on purchasing these big ticket items.  The live auction will last one hour. After the live auction, we will dance to the sound of Touch the Sky DJ, West Side’s very own Rick Clark.

What is the live auction vs. the silent auction? During the live auction you’ll be bidding against other guests for some fabulous trips and packages. Our professional auctioneer will guide the proceedings and keep the excitement and energy high. In the silent auction we have a variety of fun items and services for every budget.
During the live auction, there will be a special “raise your paddle” drive for a specific West Side Montessori need. 

How do I bid on a live auction item? Everyone attending the event will have been assigned a bidder number upon check in. When you want to participate in live auction bidding, simply raise your hand to get the attention of a spotter. If you win the item, the spotter will note your bidder number and prize.

How do I bid on a silent auction item? Silent bidding will take place at the silent auction tables on paper bid forms.  If you like an item, simply mark your bid and bid number on the form.  When the silent auction closes, the top bidder will take home the item. Silent auction item tables will open at 6:30 and remain open until after the live auction for last minute bidding.

If I go to the Spring Fundraiser, will I be expected to bid on something? There are no requirements for guests at the event, other than to have a good time! You certainly don’t need to bid on anything, although we’re sure you’ll be tempted by the wide array of auction items.

How much is admission? Tickets to the event are $100/per person.  Single or Couple admissions can be purchased online at the event website (HERE) or by returning your reply card enclosed in the invitation.  Invitations will be mailed by the end of February.

Can I purchase tickets now?  Of course, the online window is open (HERE). You can purchase one now and one later, or purchase your tickets all together when you are ready.

What should I wear to the event?  Everything from Spy to Black Tie and in between!  Don’t feel you need to be super-formal.

How do I pay for my auction win(s)? Paying for your items is simple.  When you arrive at the event, the volunteer who checks you in will swipe your MasterCard or Visa. Your credit card information will be stored in a secure terminal.  You can choose to use that card to pay for your purchases or you can pay by cash or check at the checkout table.

Will I need to take my auction win(s) home that night? Yes, it would be ideal to take your items home that night.

How can I help? 
There are many ways to help:

  • You can make a donation (100% tax deductible) to help underwrite the cost of the event, donate an item, or sponsor the event.
  • Volunteer your time. Watch for volunteer opportunities in the newsletter.
  • Purchase tickets for the faculty. Faculty members are encouraged to attend. We use donations to help offset the cost for them.
  • Most of all, come to the event and encourage other parents to attend. Invite someone who hasn’t been to the event.  It’s a great evening for the West Side Communitiy.
