West Side Montessori Receives Ohio Arts Council Grants

During the 2024-2025 academic year, West Side Montessori (WSM) will again benefit from TeachArtsOhio Grants from the Ohio Arts Council.
WSM is thrilled and honored to be named a recipient of these competitive grants, which will fund Risa Cohen's Sing Into Reading program at the Toledo campus for 100 days and visual artist Jordan Buschur to come to the Perrysburg campus for 30 days of the 2024 - 2025 academic school year

The Toledo campus program will help students ages 13 months - 6 years old develop music and movement skills that encourage reading readiness. The program offers students opportunities to learn and practice singing, dancing, and music-making in a supported classroom environment. Kindergartners will perform a concert in May.

The Perrysburg campus program will help students ages 13 months - 6 years old develop visual thinking skills while learning about their outdoor world. Students will engage with a variety of projects using both traditional art supplies and natural materials, each emphasizing the importance and uniqueness of our Oak Openings ecosystem. Students will display collaborative artwork for an open house in May.

West Side Montessori would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Governor Mike DeWine and members of the Ohio General Assembly for acknowledging the importance of public funding for the arts.
