Elea Stepnick started her educational journey at West Side Montessori at the age of 5, in kindergarten. Throughout her enrollment, Elea immersed herself in many activities, from soccer and cross country to aerial silks and trapeze, as well as ultimate frisbee, and Power of the Pen.
Elea’s favorite class at West Side was art class. Reflecting on her Montessori education's influence on her high school readiness, Elea expresses confidence. "I believe that my Montessori education has prepared me for high school," she says. "I think that my Montessori education has prepared me for high school because now I will be set ahead of my peers. The normal extreme change from 8th grade to freshman will be less prominent." "I'm glad that my family chose West Side through middle school," she remarks, "because of all the class traditions, trips, and the overall mood of the classroom."
As she prepares to attend high school at the Aerospace and Natural Science Academy of Toledo (ANSAT), Elea's goals remain straightforward. "In high school, my main goals are just to have fun, get good grades, and stay focused.”
Looking beyond high school, Elea's aspirations extend to college and extensive travel. "My main goals for after high school are going to college and traveling a lot," she reveals.
Offering advice to younger students, Elea emphasizes the value of Middle School at WSM. "The main advice I would give to younger students is to stay at West Side through 8th grade," she advises.
In conclusion, Elea expresses gratitude for her time at West Side Montessori. "I'm incredibly grateful for this amazing opportunity to learn and grow as a human being with my peers."
