Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Your background, interests, dreams, and hobbies.
I grew up in Springfield Township and attended Springfield Local Schools from kindergarten through high school. I recently married my high school sweetheart, Chris, and we’re excited to build our life together here in the community we love! My interests include hiking, kayaking, swimming, painting, and off-roading. I also enjoy drawing, reading, spending time with family and friends—and, when I get the chance, catching up on sleep!
What’s your favorite Montessori inspiration?
Watching children become more independent is truly inspiring. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing them use the tools we’ve provided to accomplish tasks on their own. It’s even more exciting when they complete each step by heart, without needing any guidance—that’s when you know they’ve truly embraced their own capabilities.
What is the most important life lesson you'd like to share with your students? How do you bring this to life in your classroom?
Respect and honesty are my top values, and I make it a priority to model these for my students. I show respect by honoring their thoughts, actions, and feelings and make an effort to answer their questions openly and honestly. My goal is to give them a genuine experience of communication, so they feel seen and heard. By showing them the respect I hope to receive, I create a classroom environment rooted in mutual understanding and authenticity.
What do you love about Montessori?
The close-knit community is one of my favorite parts of Montessori! Here, everyone is welcomed and accepted, from new students to new staff, and the strong bond among teachers, directors, families, and students is palpable. The open communication and dedication make it a place where everyone can feel supported, appreciated, and connected.
