Power of the Pen District Competition Results
WSM's Middle School Power of the Pen teams competed in a district tournament last Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
Each year, over 300 Ohio schools empower young people to find and develop their own unique creative voice through participating in Power of the Pen district, regional, and state writing tournaments. Of the eight local middle schools competing in the district competition at The Ohio State's Lima Campus on January 27, 2024, West Side's 7th-grade team placed first and the 8th-grade team placed third. Students were given a time limit to write three different stories based on the prompts revealed each round.
