Election Season at West Side

As the country held its presidential election, students at West Side had the opportunity to get a closer look at the voting process by casting their own votes in class elections.
In Upper Elementary, sixth-level students registered voters and prepared ballots for their classmates to vote in a mock presidential election. Students in grades 1-8 cast their ballots on Monday, November 4, and were featured on the local news.

Perrysburg Children's House students voted on a name for their campus's beloved mascot, a wolf pup. Winning by just 5 votes, "Westie" was chosen over "Wolfie."

If you've been to any recent events at our Toledo campus, you might have encountered a friendly wolf. After last year's election where students in grades 1-8 chose the school mascot, the graduating 8th-level class donated funds to purchase a mascot costume. The Middle School students are in charge of the mascot and take turns wearing the costume. Recently, they were asked to name the wolf and voted on a few different names, ultimately deciding on "Winter."
