Jack Gensler ('18), now a Microbiology major at Ohio Wesleyan University, recently presented research at the annual meeting of the Ohio Branch of the American Society for Microbiology and tied for best poster for the Allan A. and Jann. M. Ichida Award.
Jack completed his research for "Enzymatic Activity & Detection of Nitrifying Microorganisms in Purple Pitcher Plants on Beaver Island, Michigan" during a National Science Foundation-supported Research for Undergraduates Experience (REU) at Central Michigan University. Of his achievement, Jack's father, Dave said, "Doing all those posters, trifold boards, and displays at WSM is still paying off!"
