West Side Montessori, Toledo Campus, has an opening for a long-term substitute beginning January 6, 2025.
Our toddler program serves children ages 13 months - 3 years. Located on 37 acres of beautifully wooded property, West Side is approximately five miles from the Michigan border. We have served the Northwest Ohio community since 1975. West Side Montessori educates 400+ children 13 months - 8th grade. We are one of the largest private Montessori schools in the country and are accredited by the American Montessori Society.
In addition to the Montessori teaching philosophy and core curriculum, West Side students are fortunate to experience curriculums from specialized instructors that include:
Art (grades 1 - 8)
Music (preschool - 8th grade)
Technology/STEM (grades 1 - 8)
Physical Education (kindergarten - 8th grade)
Outdoor Education (toddler - 8th grade)
World Language (preschool - 8th grade)
This hourly position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 - 1:00. West Side offers a summer camp program where assistants may choose to work (full or part-time) during the summer months for additional pay.
Educational Requirements:
A high school degree
Experience working with toddlers
Hourly Rate:
Our hourly rate is $15/hour.
Classroom Support Duties:
Dynamic Classroom Support: Seamlessly transition between two classrooms, providing essential support wherever needed.
Morning Welcome: Be a welcoming presence during morning arrivals, setting a positive tone for the day.
Active Participation: Be an active presence in the Gross Motor Room, as needed.
Teacher Support: Offer vital support by providing timely bathroom breaks, and ensuring smooth classroom operations.
Snack Preparation & Cleanup: Set up snack tables and maintain a clean environment by managing dishwashing duties efficiently.
Lunchtime Assistance: Organize and distribute children’s lunches, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable mealtime experience.
Nap Time Setup: Prepare the classroom for afternoon nap, arranging cots and nap bags with attention to detail.
Playground Supervision: Ensure safety and fun on the playground by being a vigilant and caring overseer when needed.
Being with Children: When time allows between scheduled duties, be a presence with the children, reading stories or sitting with a child to choose an activity.
